Allergies got you down?
According to the latest statistics, over 50
million Americans suffer from allergies annually.
The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta reports that allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S.
with an annual cost in excess of $18 billion. With an estimated U.S. population of 300 million people that means that one
out of every six Americans will suffer from allergies this year alone
(If you happen to live in Oregon's Willamette Valley then your odds are even greater).
What can you do?
The daily pollen count is just one of the factors that dictate how bad your allergies may be on any given day. In addition to
Pollen
, other airborne allergens such as
Dust Mites
molds, and
Pet Dander
are common triggers that can cause an allergy attack. Knowing what triggers your allergy or
asthma attacks is the first step to avoiding them.
